Sylvie Fraser is a 16 year old Junior rider from Armstrong BC. She began her riding career at the age of 8 and went up through the pony club ranks before she began to focus solely on the sport of dressage at the age of 14. Together with her former mount, a Morgan mare named Summer Sel Coletta, Sylvie had multiple accomplishments in the show ring. She trained and competed this mare to the FEI Junior level and had a variety of outstanding achievements with her including earning 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal at the BC Summer Games in 2008 as well as earning the high freestyle score at the Rising Stars Youth Dressage Festival with an impressive score of 76%.
In 2009 Sylvie was given the opportunity to compete a horse named Magic (who was generously donated to her by Chelsea Balcaen of Vernon) with the intent to qualify for the right to represent Canada at the North American Junior Dressage Championships to be held in Kentucky in July 2009. Sylvie and Magic have achieved multiple successes this year bringing home championships at almost every show they have attended and earning her qualifying scores early in the season.
Sylvie is a talented and dedicated rider who spends many hours a week training. She is currently coached by Janine Little of Vernon and participates regularly in Dressage FYRST clinics with National Trainer Albrecht Heidemann. It is rare to find junior riders with the talent and dedication to compete at this level and Sylvie is not only an elite athlete but is also an excellent role model for up and coming junior riders. #3A3D26 |
